Kees Schaddelee Sr. and his wife Mable arrived in Victoria from the Netherlands in 1955 with 4 sons. The two oldest sons, Arie T. and Jack, began the delectable Dutch Bakery dynasty when they rented a coffee shop on Fort St.
Younger sons Kees Jr. and Maarten joined the bakery soon after they finished school. As all four sons married, their wives Anke, Donna, Bonita and Nadine joined the bakery as well.
Kees and Mable’s 8 grandchildren also worked and helped throughout their growing up and school years.
It really is a family business!
